Soumita Bhattacharya is a professional documentary photographer based in the greater Seattle area. She started her career as a visual artist in India, and the photographic work she did there captures not only the historically celebrated Indian classical dance, but also the burgeoning contemporary dance scene. Her work has been published in major newspapers in India, and in books and magazines on dance.  She is a graduate of the Documentary Photography and Photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography in New York.
